My Current TBR List

We all love a good to be read list and I thought I should share mine with all of you. My TBR is a variety of romance, fantasy, and autobiographies. I’m currently trying to read all of it before I start to buy more books because if you’re like me then you tend to read your newer books first instead of the ones that have been sitting on your shelf untouched for who knows how long. I thankfully have gotten through most of my tbr list and I still have a little ways to go before I officially finish it, but I’m just glad that these books are finally getting read. So, I hope my tbr list gets you interested and maybe even get you to read the same books as me as well.

  1. 1. “The Vampire Diaries” is one of my favorite television shows and I knew I needed to read the books to compare and contrast all of the similarities and differences that are in the book and the show. I currently only have the first book, which is a combined version of “The Awakening and The Struggle,” but I still have yet to read it. I don’t want to get the full series yet because I want to see if I like L.J. Smith’s writing style first before I decide to drop a good amount of money on a 10+ series of books.

2. The ACOTAR series is the next one on my list. I’ve heard such great things about this series and have also seen this series get a lot of hype on TikTok, so I decided to buy the first book to see if I liked it or not. However, I still have yet to read this as well. I do think I will like this though because it is a romance book. It’s also a fantasy book as well and I don’t read too many of those kinds of books so I think once I finally start reading this series it’ll be a nice change of a book for me.

3. The “Haunting and Hunting Adeline” series is something I’ve had sitting on my shelf for well over a year now, but when I first got it this series was trending a lot on TikTok. So I guess you could say I was definitely influenced by those videos to get me to purchase this. I already have both of the books, since it is only a two book series. Once I finish my current book I plan on reading this next. I do know these books have domestic violence in them, so I’m a little nervous about that. Let’s hope I can read them both because I heard the first book isn’t as bad as the second one. Many of my friends said the second one is way more crazy and messed up, so as excited as I am to read these I do think it’ll take me longer than normal to get through this mini series.

4. The “Love &” collection is also one of the books I’ve had on my list for quite some time now as well. I’m very unsure on how I will feel about this series because I forgot when I initially bought it that it was in the Young Adult section and I don’t read many books from that section anymore. The YA books just seem a little too cutesy for me now and I read most of the popular ones in middle school-beginning of high school, and now that I’m a junior in college some of them just seem a little young for me now. I currently only have the first book for this series as well and it’s the “Love and Gelato” book, which I think was a good decision on my part because I already have a feeling that I may not enjoy this as much as I thought I would when I initially bought it.

5. The next thing on my list is “The King of Sins” series. I remember seeing this on an end cap at Target and knew I had to get it. I currently only have the first book, which is “The King of Wrath” and honestly I’m totally fine with that because Ana Huang is still currently writing the whole series. There’s going to be seven books in the series to represent all of the seven sins and I’m really excited for the rest of the books to come out. I think the sixth one is coming out soon and then she just has to finish up the last one, so hopefully within the next two years they’ll all be out. I didn’t want to start reading this series as she was currently writing it because at the time we didn’t know when the rest of the books would be out and I didn’t want to be really in to the book and then have to wait for who knows how long because then I would probably lose interest by the time the next one came out.

6. The second to last book on my list is “I’m Glad My Mom Died” by Jennette McCurdy. Now I know this isn’t a romance book and it’s an autobiography, but I’ve heard so many good things about this book and I just wanted to read it so bad. I mainly wanted to read it because I used to love her on “iCarly” and after watching the “Quiet On Set” documentary on Max, I knew I had to read this next because she describes how her time was while working on “Nickelodeon.” I also wanted to read this because of it being an autobiography and I want to start reading some more of those. I know autobiographies have been trending a little bit more recently for the people writing them and for the people who read them because more and more popular figures who’re people that I am into have started to come out with them, so I think that’s what will get me to enjoy them even more. I also just love learning new things about some of my favorite celebrities and television shows.

7. The last and final book on my list is the recently published “The House of My Mother” by Shari Franke. Now I know I said I wasn’t going to buy anymore books until I finished my to be read list, but ever since this whole scandal came out I just had to get my hands on her book. I’ve been so invested in this whole scandal ever since all of the information came out in August of 2023. Then once the documentary came out to the public last month and her announcement of her book, I was just SO excited to learn more about this and to also hear more from one of the children’s perspectives. I’ve heard from so many people that it was a very good read, very interesting, upsetting, and very eye opening. So I think it’ll be easy to say that I already know that I will be enjoying this book.

Then there you have it folks, my current tbr list! Hopefully one of these books interested you in adding this to you tbr list as well, and I hope we both enjoy them. If you have anything else to say about these books or another potential book for me to put on my tbr list, please leave a comment!
